On January 1, 2003, Trega Foods, Inc. became the new name of Weyauwega Milk Products, Inc. The name change was the final step in a four-year process, which included the merger of Weyauwega Milk Products with Simon's Specialty Cheese of Little Chute, WI in September 1998, and the acquisition of Krohn Dairy Products of Luxemburg, WI in April 2000. With the merger process completed, the three entities all operate together under the new Trega Foods name.
All three of our locations specialize in different aspects of cheese and whey processing. Integrity, honesty, fairness, and hard work are the foundation of our successful plants. These values, along with a commitment to innovation and quality, will ensure our continued success in the 21st century.
On March 1, 2008, Agropur, Canada’s largest dairy cooperative acquired the three Trega Foods plants. Agropur is continuing the award winning tradition of Trega Foods under the name Trega Foods, Ltd.
Trega Foods and Agropur are proud of their reputations that rest on high quality products and the numerous awards they have won over the years, notably, at the World Championship Cheese Contest, one of the most prestigious competitions in the world. “We are now part of an organization that shares the same values as Trega Foods and we believe that we will be able to do exciting things in the future, thanks to our new association with Agropur,” added Mr. Doug Simon, President of Trega Foods.
